Yellowknife (Jan 25/06) - Trustees from the Catholic school board got a taste of what the Kimberlite Career and Technical Centre is about last Wednesday.
With help from students in Grades 7 to 12, trustees welded, made a closed circuit, and styled hair at interactive stations throughout the building.

After the tour, trustees celebrated the centre's second anniversary with gifts and cake.
De Beers representative Cathy Bolstad added to the festivities with a $100,000 donation to the centre.
"I grew up in Whitehorse, which is another small Northern community," Bolstad said. "I wish that my kids, when they were going through the school system, had these options."
The Kimberlite Centre offers carpentry, basic auto repair, electronics, robotics, and welding.
The $1.5 million addition is due to open in March and will add four classrooms and a mining program to the curriculum.
Students from Catholic schools as far away as St. Joseph's are bussed to the centre.
Students from Sir John also attend. Evening programs for adults are also available.
