Alex Beaudin: "I wasn't expecting anything big."

Yellowknife (Jan 25/06) - Alex Beaudin said he was satisfied with the support he received while campaigning for this election, and will stay on as representative for his riding.

"I've been told that people really appreciate the way I've expressed myself," said Beaudin.

While Beaudin did not get elected, he is very happy that he was given a stage to speak his mind.

The Green Party's main agenda was to create awareness of environmental issues, Beaudin said, as well as to promote healthier living in the North.

"That is what the Green Party is all about: reaching the people on a heart-to-heart basis," said Beaudin. The 2006 campaign was very enriching for Beaudin. "I've learned more about land management and upcoming projects here in the Territories."

In the end, Beaudin was realistic.

"I wasn't expecting anything big," said Beaudin. "My satisfaction comes from getting our message to the people."
