Valerie Poulin, a spokesperson for Paul Martin, would not discuss the prime minister's reasons for the interview or details about how many media outlets received similar offers.

"We just want to have a chat with you," Poulin laughed, and added that the promised interview will be exclusive in the Northwest Territories to Northern News Services.
