Iqaluit (Dec 05/05) - The Iqaluit Craft Fair attracted sellers from across the territory on Nov. 26. They attracted Christmas shoppers who filled the gymnasium at Inukshuk high school.

The Uqqurmiut Centre for Arts and Crafts in Pangnirtung hosted three tables at the Craft Fair late last month, including a shelf full of their famous Pang hats and knitted scarves. Their displays also featured many beautiful moccasins.

Mary Wilman said sales were good at the craft fair. She displayed her original "Ekho Inuit" clothing, including purses and jackets.

"I did good, although it was a quiet day compared to other craft fairs in past years," she said.

The government sale of old furniture scheduled for the same day probably had something to do with it, she suggested.
