Yellowknife (Nov 11/05) - Join celebrity emcee Johnny "Bagpipes" Johnston for the 2005 Celebrity Auction, your opportunity to bid on a wide range of donated items, from trips to TVs, paintings to pottery, clothing to crafts.

More than just plaid, Johnny Johnston delivers his hilarious comedy performance with some rock 'n' roll and a Scottish twist.

The evening features a live auction, a silent auction, raffles, a fish pond and live musical performances.

Admission is free, but bidders must register to participate in the auction.

The Celebrity Auction is the major fund-raising event for NWT Council of Person with Disabilities.

The auction supports the council's mission of self-determination and full citizenship for all persons with disabilities living in the NWT.

It also promotes awareness, opportunities, choices and participation in all aspects of life in the Territories.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Explorer Hotel.
