Sewer truck hatch kills worker Northern News Services
Alex Cazon was operating a sewage truck at the sewage treatment plant around 4:30 p.m. when the 200-300 pound circular door at the rear of the vehicle is believed to have burst open and struck him on the head, according to Cpl. Al Shepherd of the Fort Simpson RCMP detachment. Cazon, a long-time employee with Rowe's Construction, died shortly thereafter, Shepherd said. "There was a pressure build up in the back of the truck. That's what we determined so far." Officials from the Workers' Compensation Board were expected to begin an investigation on Wednesday.
