Yellowknife (Aug 31/05) - Many NorthwesTel customers may have thought they were seeing double after they got two phone bills in August.
Anne Kennedy, the company's director for public affairs, said the billing error affected about 1,100 customers.
Kennedy said Northwestel apologizes for the error will not penalize customers for any late payments.
"If they need any special payment arrangements as a result, we're certainly willing to accommodate that," she said.
Kennedy said the error should not affect customers who signed up for automated debit from a bank account or credit card.
"If customers have any questions, they can call our customer service line, but we've taken steps to make sure our customers are not further inconvenienced with late payment charges or double payments," she said.
