The overall winner for the last two years - the Department of Transportation - is again ready for battle. "We're a powerhouse, let me tell you," Kelley Merilees-Keppel said of her DoT team. Citing participation as the key to their success, she said the challenge is also a nice way to mingle with others who work in various departments across the city. Odessa Hewlko, event organizer with the City of Yellowknife, said this year's challenge will have nine events. "All our events will be after work," Hewlko said. There will be a wing eating contest, a running race, a tug of war, a scavenger hunt, horseshoes, golf, basketball, volleyball and bowling, Hewlko said. The challenge runs Aug. 29-Sept. 11. Teams can register until Aug. 24.
