Iqaluit (July 18/05) - The Nunavut Power Corporation was the scene of break and enters on back-to-back nights last week.
On July 5 at 2:30 a.m., RCMP responded to an alarm at the corporation's Iqaluit offices, located in the Parnavik building. Then, between 11 p.m. on July 5 and 8 a.m. on July 6, it happened again.
In both cases, nothing was taken.
During the first break and enter, culprits attempted to pry open the safe.
The second time, the criminals simply made a mess of the offices, tossing papers, said police.
The culprits gained access to the building through a back window both times.
At around the same time on the night of July 6, storage sheds in the beach area had their locks smashed off.
Among the stolen items were 7.67mm ammunition, a rifle scope, an orange cordless drill with battery and a CB radio.
Police are asking the public who may have information relating to these crimes to contact them.
