"The main purpose of this specific fundraiser is to replace our deck and ramp leading in the playschool.
"The ramp is starting to rot because it is solid plywood," Clark said.
The playschool operates on three main sources of funds: fees, a territorial government grant and fundraising, she said.
"For major purchases or repair, it is extra, so we have to fundraise to cover those types of costs," she said.
She estimated the cost of the project to be in the thousands of dollars.
Raising between two and three thousand dollars from the seedling sale would be "exceptional."
"We would be very happy with that," she said.
Darwin Rudkevitch, landscaper/partner in Arctic Farmer Landscaping in Yellowknife will be supplying the seedlings to the playschool.
"They will most likely be white spruce," Rudkevitch said.
The seedlings will be sold by way of $5 tickets.
The actual trees will be delivered in June, she said.
Already, Clark said about 60 seedlings were sold at the recent Yellowknife trade show.
They will be sold at the community garage sale during the long weekend in May and also during Raven Mad Daze, she said.
Tickets are also sold at the playschool.
