G&L Enterprises, made up by Gwen Hysert and her husband Lee, have an answer with a new storage business on their Curry Drive property.
"The property taxes are a little high. So my husband and I decided we might as well get some money back for all the extra bills that it costs to live here," says Gwen.
Hysert explained those living in Kam Lake area have to tank in water and truck out the sewer, and because it's "a bit of a commercial zone, there's more in property tax. The lots are bigger than what you would get in town," she says.
They have 15 storage units on their lot.
Both Gwen and Lee have full-time jobs. She works at the swimming pool while Lee is an electrician. So for now, the storage business is a sideline to help them pay for those extra bills.
"When you have a full-time job and kids, everyone understands you're busy," says Hysert.
The sheds are all-wood construction and the Hyserts are in the process of putting lighting into the sheds.
G&L Enterprises will also build sheds for people who want them for their own back yards.
Costs for renting the sheds range on a monthly basis. The price depends on the size of the shed.
