The charges stem from incidents on Jan. 1 and Jan. 3.
Const. Brad Carpenter, the investigating officer with the RCMP, says alcohol was a factor in the incidents.
It was also learned by police that the accused had an outstanding warrant in Tulita. There, he is accused of assault causing bodily harm and assault on the same victim.
The man also faces charges of breaching undertakings in Tulita and Hay River.
Following a court appearance on Jan. 6, the accused was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in Hay River territorial court again on Feb. 7.
