A miner looks into the darkness in search of gold. Boxxer Gold hopes to generate some interest for a potential gold mine within striking distance of Yellowknife.

Boxxer has executed a letter agreement with an unnamed large shareholder of the company to acquire up to 90 per cent interest in the mineral lease and 100 per cent of the Gordon Lake Property.

In order to do so, Boxxer must spend $500,000 in exploration expenditures by December 2005, with a minimum of $250,000 being spent by the end of this year.

Channel samples collected in 1994 maintain there is gold mineralization to a depth of 65m with an average width of 2.13m on the Boxxer property. Intersections of 54 grams of gold per tonne over two metres occurs approximately 15m below the surface. An intersection of 23 grams of gold per tonne across one metre occurs at 56m below surface.

"There was $1.5 million spent in 1998 and we're trying to pick up the ball and increase exploration," said Boxxer Gold president Colin Christensen.

Overall, Boxxer expects to spend close to $1 million throughout the 2005 drilling program.

"The original round of drilling shouldn't take much more than a couple of weeks," said Christensen.

"Once we get going we should have results back by February."
