"At this point, we're waiting for the results of the analyst's report," said RCMP Cpl. Ken Cooper.
Yellowknife's Calvin Glenn Alexander, 43, was killed when his Toyota Camry plowed into the side of a truck near the Yellowknife dump on June 21. His two young daughters were in the car. One was transferred to the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. She is expected to recover from her injuries.
Alexander's other daughter, along with the driver of the dump truck, was treated and released from Stanton Hospital.
Visibility was good on the morning of the crash, which happened on a relatively wide stretch of road.
One witness said the Camry did not brake as crossed in front of the truck and police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Cooper would not say if Alexander steered into the path of the oncoming dump truck, which swerved to try to avoid the car. "With the investigation ongoing, I cannot comment on details like that," he said."
