At a Feb. 10 hearing, the Legion was convicted of selling liquor to an intoxicated person and allowing intoxicated people to remain in the building.
In its recommendations, the board stated, "The licensee should take very seriously the situation where patrons are served to the state of intoxication."
On Feb. 17 the Legion paid the $10,000 fine.
Legion manager Alan McRae couldn't be reached for comment.
At the same hearing, the Kamotiq was fined $250 for not providing a receipt to a customer. It was cleared of two charges of serving alcohol to a person who wasn't seated and having a meal.
In a second hearing, Feb. 12, the liquor board made a motion not to renew the Kamotiq's liquor licence.
The board stated that the restaurant failed to comply to orders made by the fire marshal and didn't send staff to a server training course.
Kamotiq owner Lore Mahe plans to appeal the decision, saying the punishment doesn't fit the circumstances.
"It wasn't a good decision," she said. "We completed everything the fire marshal ordered us to do. First we had to suffer through the charges, which we were found innocent. I could understand the charge if we were breaking the liquor laws, but we weren't."
