Even though nothing was stolen and the culprit only made juice in the Brita water jug, not causing much damage, it still bothers her that someone broke in.
"What happens if we had walked in? What would he have done?" Kaloon said. "It's very scary."
Kaloon believes the culprit pried the back door open with a screwdriver.
This was the fifth break-in at Nutarqanut Pairivik Daycare in the past year.
Employees have seen much more damage than was inflicted this time, but the break-in still troubles them.
The day care, which houses 11 children at peak times during the week, was just one stop on a crime spree in Gjoa Haven last Monday, Feb. 16.
The wildlife office and the airport were also broken into.
At the wildlife office, a polar bear skull and ski-doo were spray painted, said Const. Martin Jobin.
A package of socks and a DVD of American Wedding were stolen from the airport.
"There were other items missing. It's still under investigation," said Cnst. Jobin.
The DVD and socks have been recovered by police.
An adult male was arrested in connection with the three break-ins the same day, Feb. 16.
It followed on the heels of a weekend arrest of another adult in Gjoa Haven, after a break-in at the hamlet office Friday night, Feb. 13, during a town dance.
In that case, the door of the main office was forced open at 10:30 p.m. and packages of instant hot chocolate mix were taken from the canteen area.
A suspect was nabbed on the scene and charged with intent to commit a break and enter.
Court dates are still pending for both individuals.
