The suites are designed for the business-oriented traveller, with all the amenities of a modern hotel. That includes access to information technology ports, kitchenettes, irons and ironing boards, everything right down to the corkscrew in the drawer, says Vince Dixon, property manager with Nova Builders.
The suites are designed to offer convenience for the business traveller, said Dixon.
"If your length of stay is vague, then we offer facilities which allow the guest to cook their own meals," said Dixon.
The accommodations are exclusive to the second and third floor, with 20 rooms and enough room to accommodate 30 people, said Dixon.
Five staff will be hired to run the suites, including one front desk person, one night auditor and three housekeeping staff, said Dixon.
The furniture was being assembled as Dixon provided a tour of the suites, some providing a great view of Back Bay.
There are no fitness or hot tub facilities on site, but Dixon said all guests at the suites can access the fitness and hot tub facilities at the Chateau Nova Hotel.
Chateau Nova Suites offers everything from bachelor pads to three bedroom units for families.
The suites also offer a reception area that will be marketed to various government departments, said Dixon.
The boardroom will house between 20, 30 and 40 people.
"It's structured much like the Katimavik rooms at the Explorer Hotel," said Dixon.
The nightly rates for the suites have not been set in stone, said Dixon.
"They will be comparable to nightly fees for hotels throughout Yellowknife with allowances made for corporate and group users, as well as the tenure of the stay," said Dixon.
