Yellowknife (Dec 03/03) - Vixen Hair Den feels more like a funky lounge than a hair salon.

Upbeat, hip music plays out over the loud speakers, the sitting area tempts you with comfy leather couches that envelop you when you recline.

Lance, Jenny, Michelle and Aileen are busy finishing up for the day. Jenny sits down and Lance sets to styling her hair.

Vixen Hair owners Lance Morrison, Jennifer Fischlin, Michelle Fortin and Aileen George have two photo sessions coming up.

The first photo session was with Yellowknifer for receiving the Business Award of Merit for 2003 -- tying with Coldwell Banker. The second is for Christmas pictures the crew plans to give out.

Morrison, spokesman for the group, says the ownership group gets along so well because they trust each other's abilities.

"It's about providing complete trust to each other for our separate duties and ensuring none of us gets too tired or overworked," he says.

"The things we pride ourselves on is commitment to education and public service," he says.
