Inuvik (Oct 03/03) - An Inuvik man has been arrested and charged with possession almost four kilograms of marijuana.

Acting on a tip, Inuvik RCMP intercepted and seized the package of pot carrying a street value of $50,000.

Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking is Jeremy Ryan Hansen, 21.

Cpl. Brian Anderson said the police received a tip from "concerned citizens" late Monday afternoon, that led to the arrest and seizure.

Anderson would only say the pot was discovered "at a location in Inuvik."

Hansen was arraigned and released by a justice of the peace last night and will appear in territorial court Nov. 24.
