The man approached the girl on Taylor Road between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Monday morning. He was wearing a balaclava, and lifted it up when he approached her.
He is described as older, heavy set and clean shaven with black hair. The vehicle was an older model white four-door car with a grey mark on the passenger front door near the handle.
"We've conducted extensive patrols looking for the suspect vehicle," said Sgt. Al McCambridge.
He added that young people should stay a safe distance from strangers who talk to them from a vehicle.
Most abductors will not get out a vehicle to chase a child. Often they will lure the person close to them and then grab the child.
McCambridge said he could not confirm whether the suspect in this case got out of his car.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the RCMP.
