Iqaluit (Dec 02/02) - When workers arrived at the Iqaluit courthouse Tuesday morning, Nov. 26, they found an empty fridge and broken glass.

They called the police right away.

"There was broken glass and food was taken out of the fridge," said a court official who asked not to be identified.

"There were chairs pushed over in the hall. I assume they used it as some kind of a ladder."

Iqaluit RCMP immediately responded to the call and began their investigation.

"The Iqaluit identification team attended and conducted an examination of the scene for fingerprints," said Cpl. Dave Kalist.

He said though the police currently have no suspects, the investigation was continuing.

The court official expressed relief that files were left untouched.

"They could have done a whole lot more than they did. All they had to do was dump over a filing cabinet and there would have been files everywhere."
