The service will be held in the school's gymnasium on Sept. 20 at 11:35 a.m.

The service was originally planned for today but was rescheduled to allow extended family from out of town to attend, said Johnnie Bowden, principal at St. Pat's.

"It's standard practice at our school. When a student dies, we honour their life," said Bowden.

"It will focus on the positive contribution he made to the school. It will be an opportunity for students and staff to come to terms with his loss," he said.

The service will include a number of tributes to Beyonnie's life and students will present symbols representing what Beyonnie meant to them.

He is best remembered as a talented artist, a person with a good sense of humour and friendly demeanor.

"He had a lot of friends," said Bowden.

Beyonnie died from a fatal wound on July 12. Police did not release the cause of death but have charged a 23-year-old man with second-degree murder. That case is still before the courts.
