Yellowknife (Aug 21/02) - Rain and cold weather are interfering with road and sewer construction schedules in the city, but most should be done by Sept. 15.

"We are fighting the elements," said city public works manager Dennis Kefalis. "The contractors may be working a little later than they normally do. Usually they shut down around 7 p.m, but they might work until 10 p.m.," he said.

A brief update on construction around town:

The city hopes to finish everything up by Sept. 15, its normal finishing date for construction.

"That's always been the date that weather stays good right up to then," said Kefalis. "But there might be some minor cleanup stuff right after that."
