The charity hoped to raise $32,000 but brought in $27,000 in a three-day canvassing blitz across the whole city starting Monday, May 6.
Capt. Alan Hoeft said the charity is still expecting donations to come rolling in through the post. People who were not home during the door-to-door blitz were left a cheque mailer for contributions.
Donations can still be made online at www.salvationarmy.ca and through the toll free donation line.
