The seminars, a partnership between the Northwest Territories Power Corporation and Arctic Energy Alliance, were held at Ingamo Hall Nov. 21.
The morning session was for business customers and the evening session was for residential customers.
The afternoon session was for NTPC employees, to provide training on how they can help customers cut down on their power bills.
The speaker was Mike Buchanan, director of the energy management program for Arctic Energy Alliance. He explained the main purpose is to let people know there is something they can do, and that they can get help, to cut costs. He used the business seminar as an example.
"We talked about making energy management an ongoing process within their organization," Buchanan said.
"We gave them specific examples of things they can do, and explained how the power bills work now."
He explained the residential seminar focused on how people can reduce their space heating costs.
Workshops were held in Norman Wells on Nov. 22 and 23. Rae-Edzo and Fort Smith are also to have workshops in January.
