Beavers, who range in age from five to seven, are invested once they learn the beaver promise and the beaver law, as well as the beaver motto -- which is sharing, sharing, sharing.
Keenan Carpenter, Damian Kayotuk, Dustin Rogers, Nathan Nokadluk, Richard Alexie and Matthew Fehr were inducted Oct. 22 at Sir Alexander Mackenzie school. Two others, Tynen Campbell and Keaton Firth, weren't present and were to be invested later.
Doris Tyler is in her second year as a Beaver leader.
Tyler said the investiture went well, with members who have already been invested escorting new members up to receive their scarves.
"Most everyone there got to have a little bit of interaction with everyone," Tyler said.
"It really was good. That always makes the kids happy when their parents come to see them."
Tyler said the main aim with the beavers is to have fun each week.
"In our program we try not to have competitive games, and we try not to have winners and losers," she said.
"We try to do a song with them and a game and a story, and we try to have a fun packed hour."
Tyler enjoys being a leader with this group.
"That's my niche in life. I really like working with the five-, six- and seven-year olds. I find they all want to learn and they all want to be competitive. I really like that age group."
Other beaver leaders are Jeff Allen, Melinda Cockney and Steve Travis, as well as acting activity leader Joshua Tyler.
The beavers will participate in the upcoming Remembrance Day ceremonies.
