Yellowknife (Aug 13/03) - Quiznos Sub will open its first location in Yellowknife next month.

The local owners of the operation are Edna and David Brand.

"Once people try Quiznos, people crave Quiznos," said Brand about his new restaurant, located at 314 Old Airport Rd.

Quiznos is the fastest growing sandwich chain in Canada, opening a new restaurant every 96 hours.

Karen White, director of public relations with Quiznos, said the company recently opened a store in Whitehorse.

"It's been our No. 1 store," said White.

White describes Quiznos as an upscale fast-food chain.

The local franchise will be assisted by head office personnel when the store first opens.

"For the initial two weeks the franchisee has initial office support and a director of field operations in the store to help them train the staff and learn the ins and outs of Quiznos," said White.

"We're in a unique category -- fast casual," said White.
