NNSL (Mar 10/99) - Arthur Gonzales made a brief appearance in territorial court on Tuesday to request amendments to his conditions of bail and to set a date for a preliminary inquiry into charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Defence counsel Bob Gorin said Gonzales will return to court March 30 to set a date for the preliminary inquiry. Gorin also said bail amendments were made to allow Gonzales to move about the city during afternoon hours.
"He's virtually been a prisoner in his aunt's home," said Gorin.
Gorin said conditions were also changed because Gonzales is no longer working at the Explorer Hotel. Gorin refused to comment on the employment termination.
Gonzales' family and supporters, who attended Tuesday's session in number, also refused to comment.
Gonzales, 22, was arrested Feb. 7 following an altercation at Northern United Place in which a 20-year-old man was stabbed.
