NNSL (Jun 26/98) - Ald. David Ramsay said in the afternoon the mayor notified him by phone there would be a meeting of council Saturday at 10 a.m. to discuss the issue.

Ramsay said when he asked if the meeting would be open to the public, the mayor said it would not. "We can't be doing that," said Ramsay of the closed meeting. "There's going to be decisions made there for sure."

Ramsay said he will argue the meeting be public, saying, "If we have to hang our dirty laundry out, so be it." Ramsay said Lovell argues the meeting was for council only, and that no administrative staff would be present.

Mayor Dave Lovell could not be reached for comment on the meeting.
