QIA candidates vie for regional seats, Dec. 11

IQALUIT (NOV 25/96) - The Quikiqtani Inuit Association (formerly the Baffin Regional Inuit Association) has released the names of candidates who have thrown their hats into the ring for the Dec. 11 election.
Nine communities of the region will elect a representatives to sit on the QIA board of directors.
The candidates, by community, are:
- Cape Dorset: Ping Ottokie, Atsiaq Alasuaq, Zeke Ejesiak Timilak, Mangitak Kellypalik, Simigak Suvega, Qabaroak Qatsiya, Eejetsiak Peter
- Clyde River: Peter Paneak, James Arreak, Noah Kautuq, Jayko Ashevak, Pauloosie Paniloo, Ilkoo Angutikjuaq, David Iqaqrialu, Adamie Paneak, Qaunaq Palluq
- Hall Beach: Enoki Irqittuq, Janna Audla, Solomon Curley, Isaac Nagmalik, Solomon Kanatsiak, Jopie Kaernerk
- Kimmirut: Joe Arlooktoo, Pudloo Mingeriak
- Igloolik: Lucien Ukkalianuk, Lucasi Ivvalu, Louis Tapardjuk, Simon Lyyiraq, Felix Alaralak, Dominic Angutimarik, Joe Iyerak
- Iqaluit: Simon Nattaq, Johnny Nowdlak, Josie Papatsie, Joe Tikivik, Joshua Kango, Pauloosie Kilabuk
